Our Programs

At Magna Anima, our programs are designed to prepare future teachers through rigorous academic training and values-based formation, while also reaching learners in marginalized communities through innovative, community-based schooling. Whether inside the college classroom or in grassroots learning centers, our goal is the same: to nurture educators and students who will carry the mission of building caring communities.

Teacher Education Programs

The Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd) program prepares future educators to teach with both competence and creativity. Rooted in holistic formation, the program blends rigorous academic training with values-based development, ensuring that graduates are not only skilled but also mission-driven. With an emphasis on creative pedagogy, arts integration, and small, mentor-led classes, students are guided to think critically, teach imaginatively, and serve with compassion.

  • Core Approach: Transdisciplinary, arts-integrated, and apprenticeship-based.

  • Formation: Focus on self-awareness, self-acceptance, and mission as an educator.

  • Arts Integration: Students sample multiple art forms, then deepen in at least one discipline.

  • Apprenticeship: From Year 1, students are immersed in real classrooms and community learning contexts.

  • Graduate Profile: Teachers who are professional, creative, reflective, and agents of change.

The Alay Kapwa Community Schooling (AKCS) program opens doors for young people who have been left out of school. Instead of a traditional classroom, AKCS brings learning into the heart of communities through flexible, welcoming learning centers. Here, students not only catch up on academics but also build life skills like teamwork, confidence, and leadership.

Teacher Academies

  • Core Approach: Inclusive, values-driven schooling for marginalized learners.

  • Focus: Alternative pathways for out-of-school youth, families, and underserved communities.

  • Curriculum: Contextualized and responsive, designed to meet local realities and learner needs.

  • Community Role: Strengthens partnerships with parents, organizations, and local leaders.

  • Formation: Builds not only academic skills but also caring, responsible, and socially engaged individuals.

  • Goal: To embody “education as service”, ensuring no learner is left behind.

Where Teacher Formation Meets Community Impact

The BCAEd and AKCS programs work hand in hand to bring Magna Anima’s vision to life. The BCAEd prepares future teachers through formation, arts integration, and apprenticeship, while AKCS provides the living classroom where these teachers-in-training can serve and learn alongside real communities. In this way, BCAEd students gain authentic field experience and AKCS learners benefit from innovative, arts-based approaches. Together, they embody Magna Anima’s commitment to education as service, forming compassionate educators and building caring communities.
